BooBreak ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application (the "App").
Key Principle: BooBreak has NO backend server. All your data stays on your device. We do not collect, store, or share your personal information with any third parties.
What Data We Collect
1. Child Profile Information
When you create child profiles, we store:
- Child's name (as you enter it)
- Avatar color preference
- All stored locally on your device only
2. Usage Statistics
To provide screen time reports, BooBreak accesses:
- Device screen time data (via PACKAGE_USAGE_STATS permission)
- App usage by category
- Interruption triggers and dismissals
- All calculations happen on-device; nothing is sent elsewhere
3. Parent PIN
Your 4-digit PIN is encrypted using AES-256 encryption and stored in EncryptedSharedPreferences. This protects your settings from unauthorized access.
4. Custom Content (Pro)
If you upload custom ghost images or photos for Personal Mode:
- Images are stored in the app's private internal storage
- Only BooBreak can access them
- Never uploaded to any server
- Deleted when you uninstall the app
5. Subscription Information
Subscription status is checked directly with Google Play Billing. We do NOT store subscription information locally. Google handles all payment processing securely.
6. Schedule & Settings
Study hours, bedtime settings, and app preferences are stored locally on your device only.
• Location data
• Device identifiers or advertising IDs
• Biometric data
• Email or phone number
• Analytics or crash reporting
• Any behavior tracking
How We Use Your Data
- To provide the service: Show ghost interruptions, track usage, manage schedules
- To protect parental controls: PIN prevents unauthorized changes to settings
- To improve the app: On-device performance optimization only
We do NOT use your data to:
- Target you with ads
- Sell or rent your information
- Create marketing profiles
- Track you across apps or websites
Data Storage & Security
Where is my data stored?
All data lives on your Android device, in BooBreak's private app storage. Only you and BooBreak
can access it.
Is my data encrypted?
Yes:
- Parent PIN: AES-256 encrypted (military-grade)
- App settings: Encrypted in EncryptedSharedPreferences
- Custom images: Stored in private app directory (OS-level protection)
Do you have a backend server?
No. BooBreak works 100% offline. There is no cloud sync, no remote database, and no way for
your data to be intercepted during transmission (because it never leaves your device).
Third-Party Services
Google Play Billing
We use Google Play Billing to handle subscriptions. Google's privacy policy applies to payment processing. View Google's Privacy Policy
No Analytics or Ads
BooBreak does NOT use:
- Google Analytics
- Firebase
- Crashlytics
- Any advertising network
- Any third-party tracking SDK
We keep it simple: Your data is yours alone.

Children's Privacy (COPPA Compliance)
BooBreak is designed for parents managing their children's screen time. We comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA):
- We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children
- Only parents, via PIN, can configure the app
- We do not use tracking, profiling, or behavioral analysis on children
- No third-party sharing of any child data
Google Play Families Policy
BooBreak is committed to following the Google Play Families Policy. This means:
- No ads or inappropriate content for children
- Age-appropriate content only (kids 5–10)
- Transparent about data practices
- Secure and safe experience
Data Retention
How long do you keep my data?
- Usage reports: Stored locally for 7 days (free tier) or indefinitely (you control deletion)
- Child profiles: Stored until you delete them
- Subscription status: Checked live from Google Play each session
- Custom images: Stored until you delete them or uninstall the app
If you uninstall BooBreak, all data is deleted from your device.
Your Rights
Since BooBreak stores all data on your device, you have full control:
- Access: All your data is on your phone; you can see it in the app
- Delete: Uninstall the app, or delete individual profiles/reports
- Export: Your data is stored in standard Android formats
- No tracking: We cannot track you even if we wanted to (no backend)
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page.
Your continued use of BooBreak after changes means you accept the updated Privacy Policy.
